Forty-eight hours on the risograph for anything that is not folded or stitched, four working days for a zine, and a week to ten days for letterpress because the make-ready cannot be rushed honestly.
Artwork, stock and turnaround
What do you need from me?
Separated files if you have them, one layer per ink, at 300dpi. A flat PDF is fine too and we will separate it, which takes an hour and is charged as an hour. Say which ink you want where; do not assume the file’s colours are the ones we have.
How accurate is the registration?
About a millimetre on the risograph, because each colour is a separate pass and the machine was designed for church newsletters rather than for fine art. Design around it. Letterpress is far tighter but is one colour per pass with its own setup fee.
What does a run actually cost?
Pulls times colours, plus stock at cost plus ten per cent. A hundred two-colour A5 flyers is thirty-four plus twenty-six, plus the paper. Every price break is published so you can do the sum before writing to us.
Can you match a Pantone?
No, and anybody who tells you they can on a riso is guessing. There are fourteen inks on the shelf, they are flat, and overprinting two makes a third that we can show you on a swatch card before you commit.
How long does it take?
Forty-eight hours on the risograph for anything that is not folded or stitched, four working days for a zine, and a week to ten days for letterpress because the make-ready cannot be rushed honestly.
